The Baqsa Red Baraat Lehenga

A celebration of preservation and patience, where a satin organza lehenga unfolds through layers of craft gathered over time. The first panel carries original kheem khaab, brought together with Jaipur block printing, Banarasi influences and intricate aari hand embroidery, creating a surface rich with memory and detail.

Accented with Basra moti and gotta patti work, the lehenga balances ornament with restraint. Paired with a handloom organza dupatta, designed with a half-jaal and half-buti composition, and framed by a kalamkari border, the ensemble draws from multiple traditions while remaining singular in its expression.

The silk blouse is enriched with block printing, kiran work, tested taari, sequins and layered hand techniques that echo the craftsmanship of the skirt. Taking nearly a year to complete, the piece stands as a testament to slow creation and enduring artistry.
